Why I started Makani Tech
I'm Kishan Makani. I have worked in the tech industry for 14 years, building and looking after software that people rely on every day.
The tools changed many times in those years. What did not change was where the hours went: people copying data from one system into another, chasing replies, rebuilding the same report every week. The software was rarely the hard part. Making it fit the way people actually work was.
Makani Tech is my answer to that. Students get their applications and study material organised. Developers get the integrations and AI features done properly, with tests and documentation. Business owners get leads answered, invoices chased and reports sent without anyone copying and pasting.
AI makes far more of this possible than it did even a few years ago, but only when it is set up with care: clear rules, your real data, and a person in charge of every decision that matters. That is the part I focus on.
What 14 years taught me

Reliable beats clever
The systems people still thank you for years later are the quiet ones: they retry when something fails, alert a person when they cannot, and never lose data.

Write the process down before automating it
Automating a messy process just makes the mess faster. Every build starts by mapping how the work really happens today.

Every system needs an owner and a manual
If only the person who built it understands it, it is a liability. Handover documents and a walkthrough are part of the job, not an extra.

AI should show its sources
An assistant that cannot point to where its answer came from should not be answering your customers. We design for checkable answers.
