About the role
You will receive a clear requirement and specification from us. You build the workflow in n8n, test it with real and messy inputs, deliver it with documentation, and support it for the agreed period. We care most about workflows that keep working: errors are caught, retries are set, and someone is told when something fails. How the work comes to you: a client tells us what they need, we write it up as a specification, and we offer the project to a specialist whose skills fit. You build it, test it, we review it together, and it goes to the client. After delivery you support it for the period agreed for that project, for example 30 days. How pay works: this is project-based contract work, not a salaried job. There is no monthly salary and no guaranteed monthly workload. Each project or milestone has a fixed fee that we agree with you in writing before you start, based on its scope and complexity. People who deliver good work on time are offered more projects. Support after delivery: during the agreed period you fix bugs and failed runs caused by the original build and make small changes that are inside the original scope. Anything new is a new piece of work, estimated and paid separately. Before you apply: please read this whole page. What you will do
- Understand the requirement and specification and choose the right way to automate it
- Build n8n workflows with triggers, webhooks, HTTP requests, authentication and data transformation
- Connect business apps, APIs and databases such as CRMs, Google Sheets, WhatsApp, Slack and Notion
- Write JavaScript in Code nodes when the logic needs it
- Handle errors, retries, empty data and edge cases so nothing fails silently
- Test every workflow end to end before delivery
- Write clear documentation for each workflow
- Investigate failed executions and fix issues during the support period
- Make revisions that are within the agreed scope
- Share progress, blockers and limitations with the Makani Tech team
- Keep client information, credentials and workflows confidential
What we are looking for
- Practical experience building workflows in n8n
- REST APIs, webhooks, HTTP requests and JSON
- Basic to intermediate JavaScript
- Experience integrating third-party SaaS tools
- Good at tracking down failed runs and integration problems
- Able to follow a technical specification accurately
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Clear written English
