Import into n8n: Create Workflow, then the menu, then Import from File.
How to import it into n8n
- In n8n, create a new workflow.
- Open the ⋯ menu at the top right and choose Import from File, then pick the downloaded .json. (Or open the file, copy everything and paste it on the canvas.)
- Open each node with a warning and connect your own account: the file carries no passwords or keys.
- Run it once with Test workflow, check the result, then switch it to Active.
What this workflow does
Every Monday at 8 AM, n8n pulls last week's sales from Google Sheets and payments from Razorpay. A code step compares them with the week before, and Claude writes a short Slack message: 3 wins, 3 concerns and 1 thing to do this week, each with the real number. You can also @mention the bot in Slack with a question ("Which customer spent the most last week?") and it answers from the same data.
What you need
- An n8n account (n8n Cloud or self-hosted)
- An Anthropic API key for Claude
- Google Sheets with your sales
- Razorpay API keys (optional)
- Slack
Step 1: Import the workflow
- Download the JSON file below.
- In n8n, click Create Workflow, open the ⋯ menu and choose Import from File.
- You will see two flows: Every Monday 8 AM → Sales sheet + Razorpay payments → Compare weeks → Write report → Post in Slack, and Question in Slack → Answer from data → Reply in thread.
Step 2: Pull last week's numbers
Create a sheet with a tab called Sales and the columns Date, Amount, Customer, Type, Refund (Date as YYYY-MM-DD, Type as new or repeat, Refund as yes or no). Paste its URL into Sales sheet and the Sales data tool.
For Razorpay, create a Basic Auth credential on Razorpay payments with your key ID as the user and key secret as the password. Don't use Razorpay? Delete that node and the second input of Wait for both.
Step 3: Compare with the week before
Compare weeks works out sales, orders, the share of repeat customers, refunds, and captured vs failed Razorpay payments for both weeks. Claude then describes the change. Edit it if you track something else.
Step 4: 3 wins, 3 concerns, 1 action
Connect your Anthropic key on both Claude nodes. The prompt in Write report says "never invent a number that is not in the data", so the report only uses what the code step found.
Step 5: Post it in Slack
Connect Slack on Post in Slack and Reply in thread, and create a #weekly-report channel. Run the workflow once by hand to see your first report.
Step 6: Ask follow-up questions
Invite the bot to the channel and @mention it with a question. Then flip the switch to Active.
Troubleshooting
- All numbers are 0: check the Date column is a real date in YYYY-MM-DD format.
- Razorpay 401: the key ID and secret are swapped, or you used test keys for live data.
- The bot doesn't answer questions: the Slack app needs the
app_mentions:readevent and must be in the channel.
